Swai Fish Recipes – Easier Than You Think

Baked Swai Fish


  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 4 Swai fillets
  • 3 tbsp oil, preferably olive oil
  • 1 cup of bread crumbs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Lemon, for serving


  • Preheat the oven to 350F and grease a baking dish
  • Brush the oil onto both sides of the Swai fillets and then season. Cover the fillets in the breadcrumbs and then place in the dish.
  • Drizzle a small amount of oil over each of the fillets and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until cooked through.
  • Turn over Swai Fish fillets and cook for another two minutes.
  • Serve with the lemon and a salad or potatoes of choice.

Pan Fried Swai Fillets


  • 4 Swai fillets
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tsp red pepper, crushed
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp canola oil
  • ¼ cup water


  • Season the fillets with all the spices and cover with the cornmeal.
  • Wrap the fillets up in cling film and place in the fridge for 30 minutes
  • Heat the oil in a pan and place the fish fillets. Fry on both sides so that the fish is browned.
  • Once brown on both sides of all fillets, add the water and simmer on a medium heat. Cover and flip occasionally. Ensure that the fillets are cooked evenly. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Serve warm with a garnish of your choice.

Swai Fish and Dill

Ingredients: Swai and Dill

  • 2 Swai fillets
  • Half lemon, juiced
  • Fresh dill, to taste
  • 1 stick butter


  • Preheat oven to 400F
  • Place the fillets into foil. Sprinkle on the dill, add the juice of the lemon and add in the stick of butter. Wrap everything together.
  • Bake for between 25 and 30 minutes, until the fillets are cooked through.

Sunday Lunch Swai Fish

Ingredients:Fried fish

  • 2 Swai fillets
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • Tabasco sauce, to taste
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • Vinegar
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


  • Mix all of the marinade ingredients together (everything except the fillets).
  • Allow to the fish fillets marinade for at least 30 minutes.
  • Place some oil in a saucepan and place the fillets in. Cook for about three minutes and then turn. Make sure that the fish is cooked all the way through.
  • Serve with side dishes of your choice.

VietNamese Style Swai Fish


  • 2 Swai fillets, broken into pieces
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp flour, all purpose
  • Oil for cooking
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp soy sauce
  • 1 inch ginger, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped


  • Mix 2 tbsp cornstarch, flour and the seasoning together. Place the fish in the mix and cover well. Deep fry the pieces of fish and place to one side.
  • Meanwhile, sauté the onions, garlic and ginger in some oil for about a minute, until onions are soft.
  • Add the remaining spices, except the fish. Add some water and boil for a couple of minutes.
  • Add the rest of the cornstarch and allow to thicken in the water. Boil and then add the Swai fish pieces.
  • Service with parsley, dill or spring onions.

Burgers Swai


  • 2 Swai fillets
  • Tabasco sauce, to taste
  • Two tsp Dijon mustard Swai Burgers
  • Half tsp lime juice
  • Ome tsp Italian seasoning
  • Half tsp cayenne pepper
  • Onion slices
  • Tomato slices
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • Lettuce leaves

Burger buns


  • Mix everything from the Tabasco to the cayenne pepper together and then add the fillets. Allow the Swai fish fillets to marinate for a few minutes.
  • Heat a pan and cook the fish on both sides. Make sure that it is cooked through.
  • Grill the burger buns and then place the rest of the ingredients into them. Place the fillets on top of the salad and make into a burger.
